письмо Оуэна к Джеку, спойлер к 2х07
From: Harper, Owen

Subject: second opinion
Date: Wednesday 5th March 2008

I'm working on my obituary. How does this sound?
'The passing of Owen Harper (1980-2008) will be deeply mourned. Mostly by his friends and colleagues, but hopefully also by his parents, despite them never having been that close to him. They didn't know what they were missing. His passing will also be mourned by the many bar-owners of Cardiff, where he lived, worked and drank. His loss will also be keenly felt by the womenfolk of the city, to whom he gave so much, so often. He didn't do too badly with his life, all things considered: he was a bloody good doctor and saved a fair few lives on the operating table, and for an encore he saved the world, more than once. He died in the line of duty, shot by some evil bloke with some evil plan, helping keep the people of Wales, and the world, safe.'
Jack, could you work out how many times I did save (or help to save) the world? I'd like it on my gravestone. I don't really care if anybody believes it or not, it'd just be nice.
Owen

Your suit is back from the dry-cleaner's. Though surely you could've splashed out for a new one? You do get paid more than me, after all, and I managed to get something.

It hasn't been worn! I bought it last year for a wedding that got called off. It got a mark on it when it was hanging up. And I don't want to be a knob about it, but you do six years of medical school and maybe you will get paid what I do...
Leave the suit at the desk, I'm off on recon for this shape-shifter in five mins, I'll pick it up later. Cheers mate, appreciate it

И кто скажет, что это не пейринг?

Hello Jack
Can't believe you're still at the office at this time of night. Married to the job, that's you! You want to be careful, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, and then before you know it you're hacking down doors with an axe. Or something. Anyway, Tom's out tonight so I'm just having a glass of wine and catching up with some friends via e-mail.
Tell Gwen I'm sorry I couldn't be at the wedding - I wanted to be there but something came up, you know how it is. I was keeping my fingers crossed it would all stay quiet for you - did it? It certainly wasn't at my end! I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you - see if your clearances will get you into the report, then we'll talk about it.
How's Owen?

IANTO: Okay campers, are we ready to set off?
GWEN: I thought you said 8:30
IANTO: No, 8. Come on, it's quiet tonight, let's get away while we can
OWEN: Look who's talking. I'm not having you lecture me on getting a life mate!
IANTO: And this is the thanks I get for organising a trip to the cinema? And paying for it?
GWEN: All right, sorry. I'm just finishing up, honest, I'll be there in a sec
OWEN: I'd be a lot more enthusiastic if you'd tell me what the film was. How did Tosh and Jack get out of this?
IANTO: It will be fun.
OWEN: Define fun
IANTO: Owen, are you really totally bereft of culture, or do you just strive to create that impression?
OWEN: What do you know about culture? You're Welsh
GWEN: OI!! Less of that
OWEN: All right, all right. I'll be ready to go in 10 minutes. But if this film is rubbish, Ianto, I want you to personally find a bit of alien tech that will give me these two hours of my life back

Ongoing Archive Notes
Torchwood 3
Volume 73, Week 8
Alien activity: None to report.
Alien technology: A treasure trove of items recovered from Henry Parker’s collection. Some harmless (like the alien message he thought was keeping him alive), others incredibly dangerous (but shoved on a shelf, gathering dust). Two square objects he was using as bookends turned out to be warheads for a W’narian battle cruiser - they failed to detonate in orbit and fell to Earth. If they had gone off, then my current job would be guiding tourists around the glass desert that used to be Wales.
Rift activity: Within acceptable levels.
Security: Still trying to figure out just how Parker knew so much about us, and how he amassed such a large collection of alien devices without our knowledge. Obviously, he’s not talking anymore, so we may never know. He had a whole stash of interesting files though, which he had left unlocked with a note: ‘’To Torchwood, have fun with these...’’ Without going into too much detail, let’s just say that if we ever need a favor from certain high ranking officials, we will merely need to mention a certain brand of fetish clothing.
Staff: Owen has settled back into his former role, and seems to be more at ease with himself.
Still undead, but there seems to be nothing we can do about that, apart from keep an eye on him, and make sure he doesn’t get put in harm’s way. More worrying though, is that his Tintin-phobia seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Martha has gone back to her day job, and we’ll all miss her.
Other Staff issues: Now that we have all tried, it is clear that only Ianto knows how to operate that damn coffee maker. I suspect it contains alien technology.
